Highlights - PETI fosters debate on Lampedusa & immigration movements and environment (RO and FR). - Committee on Petitions

The last meeting of the year in PETI, and before ringing in the new year, Members will meet in Brussels on Dec. 16 -- 15h00 through 18h30 -- to discuss issues that are very close to the heart of the European citizen, and Members alike. In particular, MEPs will discuss:

 

- Immigration, the drama of Lampedusa, and the many aspects linked to this phenomenon, especially as seen through the prism of the countries acting as first frontier;

- the issue of the preservation of the status of Italian provinces;

- environmental concerns in both Romania (Rosia Montana) and France (Romainville);
